How Badly Do You Want It?

Sometimes, we want something…but that desire isn’t strong enough if we don’t put in the work to attain it. Many of us have this creative side hustle dream we’d love to live out, but the biggest thing holding us back is ourselves.

Straight up, much of it falls on laziness and lack of discipline.

It also falls on the lack of clarity and the obsessive love of a craft, which would then fuel you to make a bigger impact on others.

So I ask you, “How badly do you want it?”

Elevating Your Side Hustle with Becca Courtice of The Happy Ever Crafter

Today’s guest, no doubt, wanted it; and this episode will make you act on your wants.

She’s hustled her ass off outside a day job and doubled her yearly salary in one day of launching her first product…which is fucking crazy.

She’s built a calligraphy and crafting empire with an insanely engaged tribe of over 150k Instagram followers and 25K+ in her Facebook Group as well as offering courses, workbooks, and resources to help you master the art of Modern Calligraphy.

I’m talking about Becca Courtice who runs The Happy Ever Crafter and makes shit look pretty all the way from Ottawa, Canada.

I study and observe people, which I admit sounds a bit creepy and serial killer-ish without context. But I study creatives on how they show up, provide value, engage with their audience, and the simplify their language and calls to action to onboard you to their platforms.

Becca truly inspires me as I see her operate her online business, as she puts her entire focus on becoming a master of her craft and then serves her audience by teaching them want they want to know.

She provides free resources like letter addressing templates, mini-courses, guides, and tutorials—which onboard you to her community where she can then serve you and transform you into a loyal ambassador for her tribe.

She makes it looks so easy when there’s a lot a strategy and business-savy that goes into her operation.

Today we talk about:

  • Growing an online tribe and listening to your audience
  • Making time to grind outside a day job and build a profitable business
  • Scheduling your success and showing up with intention
  • The importance of routines, meditation, and your physical and mental health
  • Plus tons of tips for best use of brushes and markers

Her story, hustle, and ambitions parallel mine in a freaky-scary kind of way—but it lets me know I’m on the right path.

I have no doubt this one will encourage you show up with intention and take that next step in your creative grind.

There's this moment in EVERY live workshop where a lightbulb goes off over student's heads. I can pinpoint that very instant every. single. time. 💡 . Yet, I can only teach so many people in person. It sucks, but it's true. And it’s why I started #ShowMeYourDrills in the first place. My free, online, calligraphy basics program. Free workbooks, step-by-step videos, and how-to's to show you exactly what you need to know to learn calligraphy from the ground up. 📚 . It's how I can give YOU that lightbulb moment, even if I can't teach you hands on. ✍🏻 . We start on October 1st- come join me and the 5,000 others (WHAT 😱!) who are ready to learn those basics alongside you. Go to 👉🏻 www.showmeyourdrills.com or hit the link in my bio!
